Spring

Huh! I just found this post languishing in the drafts pile. I thought I'd published it, but I guess not. It's all old news now, but I might as well put it out there, so the next one makes sense

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, my little health scare was resolved in a good way. It seems my demise is not imminent after all. Phew!
And while I was celebrating my ongoing life, someone we know was actively planning to end his. I have many thoughts and opinions on the subject of suicide, but I'm not going to expound upon them here.
Rest in peace, Darcy.
It's kinda hard to just pick up and get on with a cheery blog entry after that, but it IS spring, and the rest of us have chosen life, so I'll try.
Came across this a week or so ago, and it made me laugh.
I guess someone must've rebooted, because on a recent dog walk, I spotted these.
Not just a few either - hundreds and hundreds of them! Hurray! The crocuses are finally out!
The lilacs are now showing signs of life.
The garden tools, hoses and patio furniture have all been brought out of hibernation, and her highness has ascended to her rightful throne.
Some sunshine, some digging in the garden, a couple of trips to the local garden centres, and life is good again :)
And it gets better...
Our friends Carl & Melody are making a quick trip from Mexico to Calgary next weekend, and we are psyched to see them again. I went out and bought some necessary equipment for their stay. MEXICAN TRAIN!!!
(I checked, Carl - there's a red train for you.)
One last thing. I've been following Commander Chris Hadfield on Twitter, and have been blown away by his photos taken from the International Space Station, so I was delighted when he posted this one of Calgary at night. Pretty cool eh? The big hole in the middle of the right side is Nose Hill Park.
Thank you or visiting T3.
